Details

This is a print inspired by the beautiful bright red peonies that bloom in my garden for a week every Spring. So beautiful and so transient. I think it makes me appreciate them even more. I've chosen a deep berry red to emphasise the flowers opulence.

Each of these original linocut prints have been carefully printed onto beautiful handmade kozo paper. It has a wonderful translucent quality in which you can see all of the fibres and features a deckled edge. These prints measure approximately 8 x 10" at the widest points but there may be some variation in size and texture due to the qualities of the handmade paper.

My artwork is hand-printed in small batches, so please allow for subtle variations in colour and ink markings, which make every print truly unique. This is the joy of human handmade art! Produced as an open edition.

Packaging and Delivery

Your print is unframed and will arrive in a compostable cello sleeve with a grey board backing to keep it safe and beautifully presented. I also attach a gift tag so it makes a lovely, ready‑to‑gift package if you're treating someone special.*

Prints are posted in a sturdy board‑backed envelope, and all packaging is fully recyclable, so kind to your artwork and the environment.

*If you buy more than one print, I bind them together. If you want them separate, please let me know at checkout or message me.

how to care for your print

To keep your linocut print looking its best, store or display it away from direct sunlight, moisture and extreme temperatures, as these can cause fading or warping over time.

If you’re not framing it right away, keep it flat in its protective sleeve or between clean sheets of acid‑free paper.

When framing, use a mount or mat to prevent the print from touching the glass. Paper with deckled edges looks particularly impressive when float mounted (a picture-framing technique where artwork is mounted on top of a backing board rather than hidden behind a traditional mount or mat).

With just a little care, your handmade print will stay beautiful for many years to come.
