Details

I spotted these delicate flowers growing in a pile of rubble in an old, rundown car park. Despite being late for work, I had to take a photo. When I returned, the wind had taken the petals. A subtle reminder to notice the little things and seize the day.

This handmade linocut print captures wild poppies in rich red tones. Each botanical artwork is hand carved and hand printed on beautiful handmade paper, making every piece subtly unique. A thoughtful gift for nature lovers or anyone born in August which the birth month of the poppy.

Two variations are available: one on light handmade paper, and one on dark handmade paper. Please see the images showing both types in cello bags.

These prints measure approximately 10 x 12 inches at the widest points, though there may be small variations due to the qualities of the handmade paper.

My artwork is hand printed in small batches, so please allow for subtle variations in colour and ink markings. Each print is truly one-of-a-kind. Produced as an open edition.

Packaging and Delivery

Your print is unframed and will arrive in a compostable cello sleeve with a grey board backing to keep it safe and beautifully presented. I also attach a gift tag so it makes a lovely, ready‑to‑gift package if you're treating someone special.*

Prints are posted in a sturdy board‑backed envelope, and all packaging is fully recyclable, so kind to your artwork and the environment.

*If you buy more than one print, I bind them together. If you want them separate, please let me know at checkout or message me.

how to care for your print

To keep your linocut print looking its best, store or display it away from direct sunlight, moisture and extreme temperatures, as these can cause fading or warping over time.

If you’re not framing it right away, keep it flat in its protective sleeve or between clean sheets of acid‑free paper.

When framing, use a mount or mat to prevent the print from touching the glass. Paper with deckled edges looks particularly impressive when float mounted (a picture-framing technique where artwork is mounted on top of a backing board rather than hidden behind a traditional mount or mat).

With just a little care, your handmade print will stay beautiful for many years to come.
